Pullet eggs are the very first eggs laid by hens about 18-30 weeks old which is a prime age for the hen. Therefore, pullet eggs are high in vitamins, minerals and nutrients. In nature, young hens first lay small eggs and as they grow, the eggs get bigger. A study conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaiyaphoom Banchasak, Department of Animal Science, Kasatsart University found that
Egg white from small egg is thicker than that of big egg, having higher Haugh unit which is used to measure inside quality of the egg. Protein level in small eggs is higher and can be stored longer.
Small eggs have higher ratio of egg yolk to white compared to big eggs, giving higher percentage of nutrients especially folic acid, vitamin B12, essential fatty acid and lecithin which are beneficial to brain and neurological functions. Therefore, they are suitable for children.
Small eggs have thicker shell than big eggs. Although, we cannot eat egg shells, they are important to egg quality. Shells protect eggs from harmful microorganisms from entering the egg. Small size egg shells are strong, unlikely to break and easy to store for a longer period.
Because of higher ration of egg yolk, pullet eggs are more flavorful when cooked. 3 pullet eggs can be used in place of 2 hen eggs in cooking or making dessert.
Every pullet eggs, after being collected from our farm, will go through cleaning process using warm water and soft brush to clean residues from the shells. Then they will be coated with biological substance to seal freshness. Computerized system is used to detect cracks and abnormalities in the eggs. Sterilized by ultraviolet light, eggs are packaged according to their sizes under GMP, HACCP and Q-Mark (hygienic eggs) standard and delivered in temperature-controlled vehicles with 24 hours after being laid. We administer regular lab inspection for harmful microorganism, and dangerous residue. Through these intricate processes, we ensure that consumers will get high quality pullet eggs from our farm.
